A member asked:

Is it possible for the act of ovulation to rupture an already present ovarian cyst if the normal egg were to push or rub against the cyst as it moved?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not likely: An egg develops in its own follicle and is not likely to rupture an existing cyst. The ovarian follicle containing the egg does rupture at ovulation.
