See ophthalmologist: If you have already seen an opthalmologist, have them refer you to somebody for a second opinion. Proptosis must have a source and a thorough investigation should reveal this.

Do the lab work.: Unless you are an immunosuppressed patient, the blood work exam should reveal the presence of the causing organism (protozoa).Also biopsy of a nodule can be performed if possible. Antibiotic treatment is mandatory.
