how do they test for blood clots in your lungs ?

Dr. Wayne Wolf answered
20 years experience General Surgery
Ct scan: A ct scan of the chest is usually done with IV contrast to localize and verify if there is a blood clot in lungs. Sometimes they can do another radiological test called ventilation perfusion scan but these are less reliable.
