No DM foot disease: We just don't see diabetic foot disease in pre-pubertal kids. It's very rare to even see it in the older teens who've had poorly controlled dm for years. Feet tender? Any injury? Foot muscle spasms? Swelling, redness? Rash?

Growing pains: Is a possibility. She fits the age range. I would make sure to examine the feet and make sure they are normal in appearance only because she is diabetic. You should inquire how the pain feels to she if any description is nerve like in nature which could be diabetic neuropathy. Without knowing the answer, i still think growing pains is most common. Try rubbing feet with mineral ice to soothe.
