Almost certainly ben: Although it could be serious things in the lungs or heart, it is likely either minor arthritis of the chest (ribs), "growing pains, and/or anxiety. www.thepmc.org.

Work up/cause: Most cases of pediatric chest pain have undetermined cause, but musculo skeletal, pulmonary and cardiac causes should be considered. Preliminary workup depends on further details, but will often include a Chest radiograph and EKG.
