A member asked:

I am opositive. i recently had a transfuson and now they say i am o + with little - e what is this?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Rh status.: There are many different structures on the surface of a red cell that make of your blood type. The best known is abo, and rh. Rh actually has 3 components. When you are told rh +, that refers to rh d being present. But there are also rh c or c and rh e or e. The capital letter is for positive. So your rh type include d and e. Blood with e is not compatible for you. You need "little e".
