Can't tell, so needs: Can't tell, so needs an evaluation. A person with chest pain needs a doctor's evaluation, often at the E.R., to rule out a heart attack. Depending on age and other risk factors, a heart attack can be less likely or more likely. Since a person can't really tell, she gets evaluated at the E.R. Just to be on the safe side. Lung disorders and rib cage problems are possible, too.
