Multivitamin: Teens typically don't eat very well, often relying in mac and cheese, hamburgers and fries for their calories, which lack certain vitamins and minerals. Hopefully this is not the case for the teen you are describing, but it would make sense to find a good multivitamin in your local health food store for him. Then next step would be making sure he takes it!
