A member asked:

Could a lack in female estrogen lead to a long and heavy period?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not usually: Would cause a light or no period, u need estrogen to build up the tissue lack of estrogen causes a lack of endometrial tissue so no period, not normal for a long heavy period at your age, you need to see your gyn, i owuld do an exam , blood work and an ultrasound and you will probably need an offcie hysteroscopy and biopsy, hpefully your gyn can do this in office like i do.
