Basedow diseaes/grav: Basedows disease is a form of hyperthyroidism associated with goiter as a result of production of antibodies directedagainst thyrotropin receptor complex of the follicular epithelial cells. That causes enlargement of thyroid gland whivh secretes increased amount of thyroid hormone it is also called graves disease which is same as basedows disease in my view.

Medical history: Graves and basedow were 19th century mds who wrote about hyperthyroid goiter. Most people refer to the autoimmune condition (goiter, hyperthyroid, eye findings) as graves disease, but the term "basedow disease" exists. However, there is the jod-basedow phenomenon, which refers to hyperthyroidism from too much iodine intake. This usually occurs in an iodine deficient area (not the us).
