A member asked:

I am o positive. my husband is ab negative, how can this affect baby?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Minimal chance of pb: There is a possibility that your infant may have an ABO conflict if s/he has dads blood type. You may have built up antibodies to the a or b antigen on ab blood in your lifetime & those antibodies could cause babies blood cells to break down faster than expected & lead to jaundice. The docs routinely monitor for this & the problem something that can be managed. Most do quite well.
