Skin apron surgery: After significant weight loss, sometimes the overhanging skin (pannus) interferes with activity and further weight loss. In those circumstances, it can be removed with a simple removal of the overhang (panniculectomy). This is followed up later with the cosmetic procedure abdominoplasty.

Resect xtra skin/fat: This is a relatively straightforward removal of hanging redundant excess skin and subcutaneous fat with a goal of debulking rather than sculpting as is seen in a tummy tuck.

Removing a pannus: A pannus is a roll of excess fat and skin that generally hangs. There is an abdominal pannus which is a hanging belly, arm pannus which hangs from posterior arms, etc. Panniculectomy is removing the hanging tissue without anything else. No muscle tightening or moving the belly button. Occasionally he belly button is also removed with the pannus.

Hi! A panniculectomy is a surgical procedure that targets the excess hanging skin and fat in the abdominal area after significant weight loss. This extra layer of skin is called pannus and can resemble an apron. When you undergo a panniculectomy, you will have a flatter midsection and therefore an improved body contour that can significantly increase your confidence and self-esteem.
