A member asked:

Can i have a panniculectomy in conjunction with a hysterectomy?

Yes but with risks: This sis not an uncommon combination but there may be increased risks with prolonged surgery that primarily relate to blood loss, infection and the potential for a deep venous thrombosis (clot) and pulmonary embolus. Discuss with your gynecologist and plastic surgeon to review these risks as well as to determine if you are a good candidate.

Yes: These operations are often combined. The combination has been studied extensively and there is no conclusive evidence that the risk is increased in the combined procedure.
