Verbal anesthesia: Valium is great for light sedation for lasik. Patients need to be alert to focus during surgery, so we can't use too much sedation. Verbal anesthesia means talking the patient through the surgery and keeping them calm.

Need to pay attentio: Lasik is actually an important process for you as patient to cooperate. During the time when the laser is correcting your vision you need to focus on the target so your eye and the treatment are centered! you will get some valium to keep you sedated and relaxed! just think of the wonderful results that are awaiting you and good luck!
