Food allergies: Most of the time, an allergy stays the same, at least for a while. However, in about ten per cent of cases, the allergy will become more severe. Your reaction to watermelon could be allergic, and it could be worse next time you eat it, since it seems worse today than tomorrow. You're right to be concerned, especially with throat symptoms. It could be another food, so get tested.

Possibly: Food allergy reactions can vary from one exposure to another. Subsequent exposure may, but won't necessarily, cause more severe reactions. Always approach a food allergy as a possible severe reaction. Talk with your allergist about the level of your sensitivity.
