A member asked:

What if a baby is born with a smaller kidney then the other one ?

It happends: This is often found as an incidental finding on an ultrasound done for other reasons. Some are born with only one kidney & rarely one like a horseshoe. There are also a few born with double collection systems. Your doctor would just follow this during the child's lifetime & possibly look early & specifically at the kidneys if any related symptoms begin to appear.
