A member asked:

Can my anemia be affected by my insomnia?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Complicated.: Anemia can contribute to insomnia. We know insomnia and even shift work can effect health. Beyond just the "stress" of not being able to sleep or have restorative sleep, our circadian rhythm involves many factors including inflammatory cytokines and hormonal factors that play some role in erythropoietin and red blood cell formation and degradation. Hopefully a heme-onc doc can tell us more.
