Very uncommon.: Very unlikely. Can (has been reported!), but neuropsychiatric and central nervous system disease occurs not infrequently in sle. However, ms has some definte laboratory and radiographic findings and sle does as well, so proper experts in rheumatology, neurology, and radiology should be able to sort it out!

See these numbers: If your Mom has MS, your risk from her runs about 2-4%, and the risk from your grandmother is minimal. Odds of lupus afflicting you is also minimal. Since women have higher incidence of autoimmune disorders, you might want to monitor your health status, in view of YOUR symptoms.
