Yes: Without treatment end stage RA manifests with severe crippling deformities and loss of function in the shoulders, elbows, wrists, fingers, hips, knees, ankles, toes, and even in the neck. The most severe cases involve lung, eye, cardiac, skin, kidney, nerves, and intestines. All these organs can fail causing death.
