Thumb...: Trying to understand your question....Thumb numbness is the only symptom? If so, more likely carpal tunnel syndrome...More common in pregnancy. If she had a stroke or seizure important to be seen asap.

Thumb numbness: It is hard to tell based on this information, and it is best to have a visit for this. Keep in mind that the most common cause of thumb numbness is carpal tunnel syndrome, which often occurs during pregnancy. A stroke is not likely to cause numbness of the thumb- the area is too small. A seizure does not cause numbness at all.
