GREAT QUESTION!: We are in a constant state of change as new information comes up.The better dr's try to practice "evidence based medicine";studies that are very rigorously examined by "unbiased" reviewers-but this is tough.Every dr has a bias-if they know it or not. Look at your dr.Do they look you in the eye, do they respond to what you read or heard on tv, do they respond to your questions .Dr's are people, like u.
