Deviated Septum: Almost everyone's septum is deviated... It's a matter of degree. An infant or toddler can knock it out of place. I am not aware of a genetic link though the general size and shape of your nose is inherited. If your nose is really narrow the effect of a deviation can be greater than if your nose is genetically wider.

Deviated Septum: It can probably be genetic, but no one has isolated a chromosomal abnormality as far as i know.

Deviated septum: A deviated septum is a common issue. It can be caused by trauma, position in utero and even during the birth process.In some craniofacial abnormalities and syndromes, there are septal issues. If there are symptoms like nasal obstruction, snoring or recurrent sinusitis, have your nose evaluated by a board certified otolaryngologist.
