That is normal: Normal ef, ejection fraction, is when 50-55% or more of the blood in the left ventricle, the chamber that pumps the blood throughout the body (the right ventricle pumps the blood through the lungs) , is ejected with each heart beat. This occurs during systole. There still may be dysfunction during diastole when the ventricles are filling with blood.
