Diet and exercise: A balanced diet rich in fresh vegetables and fruits and low in sugars and low in saturated fats. Regular vigorous exercise, at least 30 minutes a day for five or more days/week. It generally helps to lose 5-10% of your weight, even if you are not overweight. Have regular checks with your doctor and periodic tests for fasting blood glucose and or hb a1c.
