A member asked:

Is it normal for injectable lido/epi (dental use) to cause a rise in heart rate or blood pressure?

Yes: The Epinephrine component is absorbed systemically and causes both a rise in BP and heart rate. You'll be better tomorrow when it's worn off.

It can: Some patients are sensitive to the Epinephrine in local anesthetics and it may cause palpitations and increased blood pressure. There are local anesthetics without Epinephrine so you can mention it to your dentist and have him use one of these.
