Sad for your loss: Although there was a lot of attention paid to bendicton in the late 60's & 70's there is no evidence based studies to show it caused birth defects. This issue arose in the era just after thalidomide was found to cause major defects & the country searched for similar answers to any birth defect. The heart defect with a mid-line clefting suggests a chromosome problem, but it could have just happened.

Doubtful: Bendectin, now called Diclegis (doxylamine succinate + pyridoxine hydrochloride) there is apparently no connection between this medication and midline defects and the fda has recently approved it as safe for use in pregnant women. www.nytimes.com/2013/04/09/us/morning-sickness-drug-returns.html?partner=rss&emc=rss&_r=1& anyway, although it was a long time ago, i'm really sorry for your loss.
