A member asked:

I've read that taking a digestive enzyme before meals can be beneficial. is this true and safe in general?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Safe, yes: But it may not be necessary. If you are having digestion problems, it won't hurt to try taking digestive enzymes with your meals. People with pancreatic insufficiency really need to take them. Others without this disorder can sometimes benefit as well. If your symptoms persist you should see a doctor.
