A member asked:

What is it if you get spots on your legs that look like liver spots but they're black?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

See Dermatologist: Liver spots are flat, brown-black spots that appear on the skin in sun-exposed areas of the body. They have nothing to do with the liver. The spots are changes in skin color that occur in older skin. The increased color may be due to aging, exposure to the sun or other ultraviolet light, or other unknown causes. A dermatologist can check to see if "dark" spots are still just liver spots.
