A member asked:

Can you tell me if doxycycline or vantin (cefpodoxime) is a penicillin or ethromycin?

Neither: Vantin (cefpodoxime) is a cephalosporin: not a penicillin, but somewhat related. Doxycycline is a type of tetracycline, completely unrelated to both penicillins and macrolides (the class of drugs that Erythromycin belongs to).
