Cryosurgery: When correctly diagnosed, no treatment is necessary. There is a small risk of localized infection caused by picking at the lesion. If a growth becomes excessively itchy or is irritated by clothing or jewelry, it can be removed by cryosurgery (the application of extreme cold to destroy abnormal or diseased tissue).
