An office or opt : A breast biopsy is usually done at a medical office or breast care facility by a breast or general surgeon. It is also commonly performed by a breast radiologist as outpatient in a hospital or a mammography facility. The standard of care is to do an image guided needle biopsy. Breast imaging ctr: The vast majority of our breast biopsies are performed at our breast imaging center by a radiologist specially trained in breast imaging and evaluation. Depending on the results, the patient is then scheduled to see a variety of other practitioners including breast surgeons, plastic surgeons, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists and genetic counselors.
