No: When a tendon pulls off the bone such as the supra-spinatus it can only be repaired surgically. This is what a rotator cuff ( tear) is. They are not always complete, but do not heal all by themselves. Take it from me, i waited 1 yr before i had surgery and although i had a great result the wait put me and my surgeon through more work than necessary.

Help yes, heal no: I agree with the other providers who have already answered. Acupuncture can minimize pain and help with decreased range of motion but it will not heal a significant rotator cuff injury. However, it may help to expedite healing to receive acupuncture after surgery. This is something that you can discuss with your surgeon.
