Varies : The cost depends upon the degree of your abcess. Some abcesses can be drained in the dental office for less than $100 depending upon dental prices in the area where you live. An advanced dental abcess may require a hospital visit. You need to call a couple of dental offices in your area to get idea. Dental abcesses can be deadly - please seek care quickly.

Hard to tell: It's impossible to give you a precise quote, but should involve a charge for a consultation, probably an x-ray, and then the charge for an incision and drainage, possibly even under I.V. Sedation. The charge could range from $150-$300 or more.

Cost: The cost of any dental procedure is the same with or without insurance. You insurance usually pays a percentage of the cost making your out of pocket cost less. When you come to the dentist without insurance the cost for the treatment is what it is normally billed to the insurances. Most dentist will give you a discount for full payment at the time of service. It can save you a lot of money.
