Possible causes....: Musculoskeletal pain from coughing may be due to muscle strain, cartilage inflammation or even a rib fracture. You should be gradually feeling better once the cough completely resolves. If the pain is worsening after the cough is gone or it is present at rest, see your doctor or go to the er for evaluation and treatment.
