Takes a team: In most cases, a team of specialists of oral surgeons, plastic surgeons, ENT specialists and others will be necessary to correct cleft palate defects. Check with your child's primary dentist or pedodontist and they will be able to guide you to the right team in your area.

Team approach: Most children's hospitals have cleft palate teams that include surgeons, orthodontists, pediatric dentists, pediatricians, psychologists, ENT physicians, speech pathologists, etc. Here in the philadelphia we are blessed with such teams at the children's hospital of phila, st christopher's hospital for children, & dupont hospital. Ask your dentist or pediatrician to refer you to a cleft team!
