Radiation: Ocular melanoma is typically treated with radiation therapy (external proton beam or radioactive plaque brachytherapy). In the worst cases, eyes can be removed (enucleated). But this all depends on which part of the eye had the melanoma. A good place for treatment is wills eye hospital, ocular oncology service. A metastatic work up is also warranted (laboratory bloodwork and imaging).

Radiation or surgery: Eye melanoma, or ocular melanoma is treated by either removal of the entire eye, or by radiation to the eye. It really depends on the extent of the melanoma. This type of melanoma frequently spreads to the liver, so a ct or MRI of the liver should be obtained. I recommend seeing someone who specializes in this type of cancer due to its relative rarity and severity.
