What does benign to malignancy mean in terms of breast lump?

No cancer vs. cancer: Benign is non-cancerous and this breast lump can be observed or left alone. Malignant is cancerous and needs surgical excision of the cancer and consideration of medical oncology and radiation oncology treatments. There are many types of benign breast lumps, and several types of breast cancers.
