Dying teeth: Sounds like a tooth is dying. Lower molars refer pain to the back of the head/ear and upper molars refer pain to the temple. Dying teeth can have radiating pain causing headache. Please see your dentist or endodontist to evaluate the cause.

Pulpitis : Certain teeth w/ inflamed pulps cause referred pain that result in headaches upper molars refer pain to the temporal area causing headaches lorwer molars refer pain to the ear these are just 2 of the more common examples causing headaches.
