LASEK vs LASIK : As a former lasik surgeon and patient myself i'm stating that lasek is safer in every situation. There really isn't any debate about that. The tradeoff is the recovery takes a couple of days longer.

LASEK risks: Infection, corneal scarring, ectasia, dry eye, glare and haloes, need for enhancement, decreased best corrected vision. Risk of vision threatening complication is very rare though.
