Black Hairy Tongue: It is an actual condition called black hairy tongue . The papillae on the surface of the tongue become elongated and look like "hairy projections". It is caused by bacteria buildup, and things like smoking , poor oral hygiene and dry mouth can contribute. Brush your tongue and use a tongue scraper.
