Soap and water: Petroleum jelly is an oil, and oils are soluble with soap. Soap up her hair well, then rinse. If there's a lot of vaseline you may need to do it several times. By the way, human hair is human hair and vaseline is vaseline. It doesn't matter if the hair is strait or kinky, or whether the child is dark, light, or in the middle.
