How quick can a cyst grow? i had my ovary removed due to a cyst, but could this have been prevented if i had a scan sooner

Possible: Cysts can grow rapidly and the size isn't necessarily the reason the entire ovary needs removal. It's more the type of cyst and the chance of it being a tumor or recurring.
