Ascariasis: Ten days of zentel or Albendazole is a long time for ascariasis treatment (standard treatment is a single dose). It probably killed the bug, but there's the possibility that your symptoms weren't due to the infection in the first place and you have another process going on. I'd also talk with your doctor again about possible resistance to Albendazole in your geographic area.

RE: Zentel: I would agree that a 10 day course of zentel is longer than usual, and should have treated the ascariasis. I would submit another stool specimen for bacterial culture, along with ova/parasite exam. I would strongly doubt ascariasis is an active problem at this time and attempt to exclude other problems. Gastrointestinal input with possible colonoscopy might be of benefit. Good luck.

Ascariasis: This very large round worm should have been eliminated by the course of Albendazole you took, assuming that the organism was not resistant or that the drug was not being taken properly. Would have stools checked for clearance, and if no eggs or large round worms in stools, look for another cause for your symptoms (you don't say what these are). Ivermectin is alternative therapy if necessary.
