Doctor can evaluate: A woman should not consider a "smelly discharge" from her vagina as normal. She can see her primary care or ob-gyn doctor for an evaluation, to find out why there is such a discharge, making sure there is not an infection, and completing the pap smear and usual preventive screening.

See your doctor: Lots of causes of discharge- infections, including stds, but also vaginal chanes if menopause. The medical definition of menopause is one year without periods. It's also unlikely, but possible, for pregnancy to occur in the peri-menopausal period.
