Bruised nerves: I assume the baseball hit the hand. Trauma that injures nerves will cause some numbness and tingling as the nerves recover. Dead nerves do not hurt or tingle, it is recovering nerves that give strange sensations. A thorough medical evaluation would be appropriate.
