Short & Uneventful: A D&C should be short and painless if done in the or with sedation or a light anesthesia. We usually also do a hysteroscopy which simply is a fiber optic camera that lets us see the inside of the uterus (also painless & easy). If your D&C is pregnancy related, no camera is usually used and takes less than 5 minutes. Recovery is mostly cramps, light spotting, and nothing major; good luck.
