A member asked:

I am 29 years old of 2 months pregnant, having ogtt test (after 2 hours of taking 75g glucose). result-159 mg/dl. is it normal?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No: No, it's not normal. But it's also not indicative of diabetes (at least by itself). 2-hr glucoses between 140-199 are considered indicative of pre-diabetes (gray zone between normal and diabetes). However, if the fasting glucose is over 125, or the a1c is over 6.5%, that would meet other criteria for diabetes. If not already diabetic, 10-20# weight loss could push diabetes further in your future.
