will drinking 40+ oz of water before a fasting oral glucose tolerance test falsely affect the 1, 2, or 3 hour results?

GTT: It is not fasting if you drink 40 ozs of water. It needs to be nothing to eat or drink after midnight for an 8 am test. Good Luck

Unlikely: Rinsing one's mouth with water after drinking glucose solution is unlikely to affect blood sugar level.

Not a big deal: The amount of water is not terribly important - 12-16 oz should be fine. Be sure you are fasting (not eating) for the required number of hours.
