Doctor can evaluate: Oily skin occurs because of oil-producing glands in the skin. A primary care doctor can look to see if the oiliness is normal or maybe related to hormonal imbalances. Oily-skin areas do tend to get pimples more often than less oily skin areas. A dermatologist can also help evaluate and treat, if there is no underlying medical problem causing the oiliness.
