What do skin tabs look like and how can you safely remove them at home?

Easy.: Skin tags look like fleshy pieces of skin usually on a narrow stalk. They can be removed by simply cutting or using scissors... But that can be brutal. Best way is to take sewing thread - get a partner - pull the tag away from the skin and tie a knot around the base of the lesion. Be sure to tie tightly. Relatively painless.

Don't do at home : Do you mean skin tags? They look like little raised bumps of skin attached usually by a thin stalk (1-3 mm) that occur around the neck, armpits, under breasts or chest, inner thighs. Do not try to remove at home--they may bleed profusely or get infected. Have them removed by a health professional. They can be snipped off and cauterized, frozen with liquid nitrogen.
